I agree with the poster above, there is acrylic between the lights and the individual (on beds) and in the standing ones there are cages essentially. I would have to cry foul on there being broken lights because there would have to be a good three inches to bend the metal to access the lights if it were a standing booth. Some of this is funny, and not using any protection is pretty horrific. There are some good uses though for these- I was advised to slather my sunscreen on and do the bare minimum time. But once I moved back to a warmer climate, oh heck no, buh bye tanning salons- there are some orangey people in there.
